Privacy Policy

Effective September 20, 2026 · Last updated September 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Kinly, the CareCards service, handles information when you register for and use the app. Kinly is an adult emotional support community. It is not medical care, therapy, crisis response, or an emergency service.

Adults only: Kinly is for people aged 18 or older. “Anonymous” display options can hide identity details from other members, but they do not make data technically anonymous.

1. Information we handle

  • Account and consent: email, password-derived or hashed credential, session tokens, age confirmation, consent records, account ID, and deactivation state.
  • Profile and support content: nickname, avatar, bio, cards, responses, messages, and any image or audio content you choose to submit where the feature is available.
  • Safety and preferences: reports, blocks, hidden-message records, language, theme, local notification choices, and necessary error data.
  • Transactions and entitlements: where enabled for your deployment, store product or transaction status, Warmth balance, digital entitlements, and gift history.

2. How we use information

  • create accounts, verify sign-in, and provide core features;
  • display content you choose to publish and deliver responses or messages;
  • save preferences and diagnose failures;
  • apply report, block, hide, and other community safety controls;
  • confirm store transactions and comply with legal obligations where applicable.

3. Visibility and sharing

Profiles, cards, and responses may be public according to the choices available in the app. Other members can see content you publish. Necessary information may be processed by infrastructure providers that host accounts and records, app stores for purchases, and authorities where law or safety requires it. We do not sell personal information as a business purpose.

4. Device permissions

Camera, photo or media access, and microphone access are requested only when you choose an action that needs them. You can withdraw access in system settings; features that need a permission may stop working.

5. Retention and account actions

We retain information as needed for service delivery, disputes, safety, transactions, and legal duties. The in-app Delete account action currently deactivates the account, revokes active sessions, and prevents sign-in; it does not immediately erase every record. Contact support to request further deletion or de-identification.

6. Your choices

You can edit your profile, use hide, block, and report controls, manage device permissions, change local preferences, deactivate your account in Settings, and request access, correction, deletion, or restriction. We may verify account ownership first.
